Anyone would find the experience overwhelming, especially during such unsettled times, when an unnamed shadow stalks the land. After all, it's not every day a dragon chooses you to become her Rider and then strangers sweep you away from your family and fly you across the whole of Alagaësia and beyond. I realize that you must have a host of unanswered questions.
I wish I could be here to greet you in person, as does Saphira, but a matter of the utmost importance has arisen, and we must leave at once. But they're short and I can spare you the trouble by quoting them here. The letters found on the first and last pages of the book are the only parts with anything new, as they're set in the "present day", sometime between books 4 and 5. There really isn't anything new in the book as far as lore goes, just information from the rest of the series organized into a scrapbook form and bundled with some great artwork. However if your only interest in this book is for "compiling lore" than you'll be disappointed. There's no official ebook version of this book, though there are some scans floating around online.
